Learning Name:

Innovation- An Introduction

Overview

The key to introducing innovation is to unlock the power of the mind, and to break free of the normal mode of thinking and perceiving. This course introduces you to the potential you hold for creating innovation with impact. On successful completion of this course you will be able to understand the natural limitations of the normal mode of thinking, and the potential of lateral thinking as a source of new ideas. You will learn that generating ideas is not some special gift, but rather is a skill that can be learned. The course introduces you to some techniques for generating ideas, and reminds you that practice does make perfect - or will at least lead to significant improvement. It is wrong, however, to assume that an idea of itself is enough for innovation to occur. Rather, an idea needs the right place in which to be applied. We'll explore where you may find opportunities for improvement in your workplace, and cover a framework for implementation that will enable you to maximise your chances for successful implementation.
