Overview

'Implement and Monitor the Organisations Procedures for Providing OHS Training' is designed to help frontline managers manage Occupational Health and Safety through implementing and monitoring work group training. This includes systematically identifying training needs, conducting training and including training budgets in the department's or organisation's financial plans. A well trained and OHS aware work group leads to higher awareness and participation of OHS issues in the workplace culminating in increased safety and reduced accidents, and therefore a better and higher performing environment for all stakeholders. 'Implement and Monitor the Organisations Procedures for Providing OHS Training' is the third course (of six) in the unit 'Monitor a Safe Workplace'.


Objectives

On completion of this course you will:
1. Ensure that Occupational Health and Safety training needs are systematically identified in line with organisational requirements.
2. Ensure that arrangements are made to meet Occupational Health and Safety training needs of team members in consultation with relevant individuals.
3. Ensure that workplace learning opportunities and coaching and mentoring assistance are provided to facilitate team and individual achievement of identified training needs.
4. Ensure that costs associated with provision of training for work team are identified and reported to management for inclusion in financial plans.
